Dongsheng Zhou currently serves as a Professor and the Head of Department of Biosafety, State Key Laboratory of Pathogen and Biosecurity, Beijing Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology, Beijing, China. His research interests include microbial pathogenesis, gene expression, population genetics, and biosecurity. As a principle investigator, he has been funded by Major State Basic Research Development Program of China (Program 973), National Natural Science Foundation of China, Beijing Natural Science Foundation, and Beijing Nova Program. As a Coinvestigator, he has been funded by National Key Program for Infectious Disease of China. As a corresponding or first author, he has more than 50 peer-reviewed journal papers (written in English) indexed by Science Citation Index or by Science Citation Index Expanded. He has an h-index of 25. He serves as the Academic/Associate Editor of Scientific Reports, PLoS ONE, BMC Microbiology, and Frontiers in Microbiology. He also serves as the editorial board Members of Future Microbiology, International Journal of Food Microbiology, and Gut Pathogens.
