Andreas H. Mahnken is a Professor of radiology at the Department of Diagnostic Radiology in the Aachen University Hospital and the Head of Interventional Therapy at the Helmholtz Institute of Biomedical Engineering (RWTH Aachen University). In 1997, he received his MD degree from the University of Bonn. Professor Mahnken was trained in surgery and radiology and was board-certified in radiology in 2003. In 2004, he became an Assistant Professor in radiology, and in 2008 he was appointed Associate Professor of radiology. He graduated in healthcare management (2006) and was certified in quality management (2007). He is also trained in medical education and graduated as master in medical education in 2010. In 2012 he became head of diagnostic and interventional radiology at Marburg University. His clinical and scientific interests are interventional radiology with a particular focus on interventional oncology and cardiovascular computed tomography.
