Patrik Johansson

Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden

Patrik Johansson holds the Ph.D. degree in inorganic chemistry from Uppsala University and serves currently as an Associated Professor at Department of Applied Physics, Chalmers University of Technology. He has published more than 70 scientific papers, mainly on lithium battery materials, and is also active in the areas of hydrogen storage materials, CO2-capturing, low-temperature fuel cells, among other fields. His expertise in applying ab initio/DFT calculations to interpreting in situ spectroscopic measurements (IR/Raman) has been successfully applied to reveal the speciation in novel electrolytes, to suggest and explain new materials, to determine local transport limiting factors, and to optimize electrolyte performance, both in model systems and real working cells.
