Ellen M. Van Cann
Ellen M. Van Cann, M.D., D.M.D, and Ph.D., serves as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at the University Medical Centre Utrecht, The Netherlands. From 1984 to 1993 Van Cann studied at the Dental school and Medical school, University of Amsterdam, and from 1993 to 1997 studied the specialisation oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University Medical Centre Nijmegen and Rijnstate Hospital, Arnhem, The Netherlands. From 2001 till present, Van Cann has been serving as a Consultant of oral and maxillofacial surgery, with special emphasis on oncology, at the University Medical Centre Utrecht; from 2007 till present, a Consultant of oral and maxillofacial surgery at Diakonessenhuis Utrecht/Zeist; from 2008 till present, a Team Member of the Multidisciplinary Workgroup of Facial Pain, University Medical Centre Utrecht; and from 2010 to 2011, a Coordinator of research and education at the University Medical Centre Utrecht. Van Cann's special interest is in head and neck oncology; mandibular invasion; free flap reconstruction; health-related quality of life; salivary gland surgery; trauma cleft surgery and other congenital deformities; orthognathic surgery; implantology; dentoalveolar surgery; pain.
