Shahin Shadnia was born in Tehran the capital city of Iran, in 21 May 1971. He got his M.D. degree in 1996 from Faculty of Medicine in Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. He also received his Ph.D. degree in toxicology from Faculty of Pharmacy in Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 2005. Since 2005, he began his academic activities as an Assistant Professor of clinical toxicology in Loghman Hakim Hospital Poison Center which is the referral and also the biggest poison center in Iran. In addition, he serves as the Head of Intensive Care Unit of Loghman Hakim Hospital Poison Center. He has been a member of the Iranian Society of Toxicology since 1997, and he serves as a General Secretary of the society 4 years ago. He has succeeded to get a grant from IUTOX to participate Risk Assessment Summer School in Malta in 2002, got a granted fellowship to participate in Advanced Hazmat Life Support Provider and Instructor Course in Roma, Italy in 2006, got IUOTOX granted fellowship to participate in 43rd Eurotox Congress in Dubrovnik/Cavtat-Croatia in 2006, and got APAMT granted to participate in 6th Congress of the Asia Pacific Association of Medial Toxicology in Bangkok-Thailand in 2007. He has succeeded to publish 41 papers in peer-reviewed journals in his academic activity period and now he serves as the Associate Editor of the Iranian Journal of Toxicology. He is interested in a topics like as pesticide specially organophosphates and aluminum phosphide poisoning, critical care in intoxicated patients.
