Esther De Vries

Esther De Vries was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in 1962. She received her two M.D. degrees from the Utrecht University, Utrecht, The Netherlands, in 1985 and 1986, and her Specialist Registration in Pediatrics and Ph.D. degree from the Erasmus University, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, in 1991 and 1999, respectively. In 2000, she spent a 3-month sabbatical leave at the Department of Immunology of the Hopital Necker Enfants Malades, Paris, France. Since 1997, she serves as a Consultant in pediatric infectious diseases and immunology at the Jeroen Bosch Hospital, The Netherlands. Her interests also comprise allergy and Down syndrome. She is an Active Member of the European Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases and a Board Member of the European Society for Immunodeficiencies. She is also a Member of the Dutch Society for Pediatrics, the Dutch Society for Immunology, and the Dutch Society for Infectious Diseases. She is active in clinical research in primary immunodeficiencies, infectious diseases, allergy, and Down syndrome. She is also responsible for the training of pediatric residents in the Jeroen Bosch Hospital. Several Ph.D. students work under her supervision.
