Jochen Schein obtained his Ph.D. (June 1996) and M.S. (March 1992) degrees in electrical engineering from Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Bochum, Germany. Since August 2006 he works as a Full Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, University of the German Armed Forces, Munich, Germany, and the Chair of the Institute of Plasma Technology and Mathematics. Schein also served as a Senior Scientist in Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, National Ignition Facility, from June 2004 to July 2008, and a Scientist (Senior, Principal) in Alameda Applied Sciences Corporation, San Leandro, Calif, USA, from October 1998 to June 2004. His research interests include X-ray sensors, space propulsion, and energetics experiments.
