Fatih Kurugollu received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in computer engineering from Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 1989, 1994, and 2000, respectively. From 1991 to 2000, he was a Research Fellow at the Marmara Research Center, Kocaeli, Turkey. In 2000, he joined the School of Computer Science, Queen’s University, Belfast, UK, as a Postdoc Research Assistant. He was appointed as a Lecturer at the same department in 2003 and was promoted to a Senior Lecturer in 2011. His research interests include multimedia security, soft computing for image and video segmentation, visual surveillance, and hardware architectures for image and video applications.
