Kakashaheb R. Mahadik

Kakashaheb R. Mahadik graduated in pharmacy from the Shivaji University in 1980 with distinction and then received the M.S. degree from the Nagpur University in 1982 with first class. He then completed his Doctoral degree from the University of Pune in 1993. He is currently the Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bharati Vidyapeeth University and the Principal and a Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the Poona College of Pharmacy, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune. He started his academic career as a Lecturer in 1982 at the Poona College of Pharmacy, Bharati Vidyapeeth and rose to the position of the Principal and a Professor at the same institute. During his career, he is actively engaged in research, teaching, and administrative responsibilities. He has guided more than 72 students for the M.Pharm. degree and 15 doctoral students. This has translated into several research publications in national and international journals and patents. The research activities have been recognized nationally and internationally. He has to his credit 86 research papers in international and 69 national journals. He has filed 18 patents and presented over 56 research papers in international and 66 research papers in national conferences. He has authored Seven books in different subjects of pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmaceutical analysis. He is the Recipient of Best Teacher Award by the Government of Maharashtra for the year 2003-2004 and “Vishesh Seva Puraskar” by Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune in May 2005.
