Yunlong Liu is an Associate Professor at the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics in Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN, USA. He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Department of Biostatistics in Indiana University School of Public Health and School of Informatics. He received his Ph.D. degree from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA, in 2004. His research interest is to use bioinformatics approaches to understand regulatory mechanisms of gene expression. This involves transcriptional regulation, posttranscriptional regulation (microRNA and alternative splicing), and epigenetic regulation. In addition, Liu’s group has significant experience in bioinformatics analysis of high throughput functional genomic data, including microarray data analysis and next-generation sequencing data analysis.
