George Koutsantonis

George Koutsantonis received his B.S. degree (with honors) from the University of Adelaide in 1985 and subsequently his Ph.D. degree, in 1990, from the same institution. Dr. Koutsantonis shared the CSR Chemicals Prize for the highest placed first class honors degree. Subsequently, he spent time as a Research Associate at the University of Kentucky in 1990 returning to Australia as an Australian Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow at Griffith University from 1991 to 1995. In 1995, he was appointed to Lecturer in Chemistry at the University of Western Australia, promoted in 2002 to Senior Lecturer. Dr. Koutsantonis was a recipient of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute’s Organometallic Award in 2004. He has been Professeur Invité at the Université Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg. He has served on the organising committees of international conferences of the 17th International Conference on Organometallic Chemistry, 5th International conference on Calixarene Chemistry and is on the organising committee for the Australian series of OZOM conferences on organometallic chemistry. He has served as Guest Editor for a special issue of Compte Rendus on the Concept of Coordination. His research interests include organometallic polymers, electroactive materials, supramolecular interactions, catalysis and sustainable chemistry.
