Paolo Emilio Ricci
Emilio Ricci was born in February 4, 1944. He is currently a Full Professor of Numerical Analysis, Faculty of Sciences, Sapienza Rome University. His research interests are in special functions, approximation theory, numerical analysis, as well as differential and integral equations. He has presentations at several international meetings: Erice (Italy), Tampa (Fla, USA), Santa Barbara (Calif, USA), Tel Aviv (Israel), Delft (The Netherlands), Madrid (Spain), Budapest (Hungary), Moscow and Saint Petersburg (Russia), Guangzhou (Canton, China), Tbilisi (Georgia), Rostock and Chemnitz (Germany), Patras (Greece), Jaipur (India), Copenhagen (Denmark), Munich (Germany), Victoria (BC, Canada). From 1983 to 1992, he was the Scientific Director of the journal Rendiconti di Matematica e delle sue Applicazioni. Hr is the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd International Symposium: “Problemi attuali dell'Analisi e della Fisica Matematica,” Taormina (1992, 1998, 2006), and the Editor of the corresponding Proceedings. He is a Member of the Scientific and Organizing Committee of the 6th and 7th OPSFA (Rome-Ostia, June 2001 and Copenhagen, August 2003); a Member of the Society for Special Functions and Applications (SSFA- Aligarh, India). He was awarded Dr. Honoris causa by the Tbilisi State University (October, 2003). Since 2000, he has been a Research Collaborator of the ENEA Research Center Frascati (Rome, Italy), Unity of Theoretical Physics and Applied Mathematics, led by Dr. G. Dattoli. He is with several Editorial Boards, a Member of the Scientific Committee of the journals: Reports of Seminar of I. Vekua Institute of Applied Mathematics, Tbilisi (Georgia) and Georgian Mathematical Journal, Tbilisi (Georgia). He is an Associated Editor of Integral Transforms and Special Functions (Taylor & Francis) and the Journal of Inequalities and Applications (Hindawi Publishing Corporation).
