Michele Iester is Associate Professor at the University of Genoa Since December 2006. He has been registering as a member of Italian Ophthalmological Society since 1991, as member of ARVO and AISG (Italian Glaucoma Society) since 1992. In 1992 he spent a period of time in Erlangen, Germany, with prof. Jonas to study intra and parapapillary modification in glaucoma disease. In 1992-93 he participated in a tear substitute artificial eye drop study for FDA. He is one of the reviews of the American Journal of Ophthalmology, Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science, Survey of Ophthalmology, Eye, British Journal of Ophtalmology, Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics, Journal of Glaucoma, Ophthalmology, Acta Ophthalmologica Scandinavica, Ophthalmic Epidemiology, Optometry and Vision Science, Current Eye Research, European Journal of Ophthalmology. He published 240 papers on different Ophthalmologic subjects, 80 of them on journal with impact factor. He is co-editor of 4 Italian Ophthalmological books and one in English which has been translated in German, French, Italian and Spanish language.
