Ai Chen is now an Associate Researcher (Associate Professor) in Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received his B.S. degree and M.S. degree under Professor Dong Xiang both in electronic engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2001 and 2004, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree under Professor Ten H. Lai in computer science and engineering from the Ohio State University, USA, in 2009. Dr. Chen is the author and coauthor of over 20 papers in premier network journals and conferences with over 300 citations. Dr. Chen served in several international conferences as a publicity cochair, session chair, program committee member, or reviewer. He also currently serves as a reviewer for many international journals. Ai Chen’s research includes wireless and sensor networks, distributed systems, and mobile computing, supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NFSC), National S&T Major Project of China, and other agencies. Dr. Chen is interested in the research work that has the impact on people’s real lives. He is currently developing some applications on smart phones to make them more user-friendly, such as automatically setting a smart phone’s ringer mode according to the surrounding environment.
