Salih Ozgocmen

Salih Ozgocmen graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Ondokuz Mayis University, Samsun, Turkey. He served as a Practitioner at the Primary Trauma Care Hospital, Turkey, for two years. He then won the exams for the Medical Specialty Program and became a Resident in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Ankara Education and Research Hospital, Ankara, Turkey. Ozgocmen graduated as a Physiatrist in 1998. He began his work at the Firat University Faculty of Medicine, Elazig, Turkey, where he became a Resident in rheumatology in 1999. He completed this program and became a certified specialist in rheumatology in 2002 and served as an Associate Professor in PM&R in 2003. Ozgocmen was appointed as a Professor and Head of the Division of Rheumatology, Gevher Nesibe Hospital of the Erciyes University, Kayseri, Turkey, in 2009. Currently, he is an Active Member of the Turkish League against Rheumatism and Turkish Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is also an International Member of the American College of Rheumatology. Ozgocmen serves as a Member of the Advisory Board of Assessment in SpondyloArthritis International Society (ASAS). He was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis in 1990 and served as a Member of the Patients against Rheumatism in Europe and National Patient Association against AS. He was a board certified Physiatrist and ISCD certified Clinical Densitometrist. Ozgocmen serves in the advisory board of international and national journals and as an Active Reviewer in major rheumatology journals and has more than 100 publications in the field. His research areas include ankylosing spondylitis and SpA with particular interest in clinical outcome measures, rehabilitation, treatment, imaging, low-back pain, rehabilitation of rheumatic diseases, chronic pain, and treatment of rheumatic diseases. He is also studying musculoskeletal ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging in rheumatic diseases. Ozgocmen is an Active Investigator in many trials in the treatment of rheumatic diseases with biologic agents.
