Hon Tat Hui

Hon Tat Hui obtained his B.E. degree with the first class honors from the City University of Hong Kong in 1994 and the Ph.D. degree in 1998. From 1998 to 2001, he worked in City U as a Research Fellow. From 2001 to 2004, he was an Assistant Professor at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Between 2004 and 2007, he was a Lecturer at the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, University of Queensland. He joined the National University of Singapore, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2007 as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Hui is a Senior Member of The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). He is also a Chartered Engineer and a Corporate Member of The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). Dr Hui has a wide range of research interests in wireless communications, scuh as in multiantenna systems, MIMO systems, diversity for mobile communication systems, smart antennas, adaptative arrays, and satellite communications. He has designed novel antennas and antenna arrays for mobile communications, for satellite communications, and for diversity operations. Recently, he developed a revolutionary method for the analysis of mutual coupling effect in antenna arrays. His recent research interest also includes quantum computing, quantum information processing, and biomedical imaging (especially MRI). He has also a strong interest in numerical methods in electromagnetics and was one of the pioneers in the development of numerical methods for electromagnetic complex media. In the field of his profession, Dr. Hui has published more than 50 papers in internationally referred journals.
