Osama K. Abou-Zied0000-0003-0497-8412
Osama K. Abou‐Zied obtained his B.S. degree from Cairo University, Giza, Egypt, in 1988, and his Ph.D. degree from University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, SK, Canada, in 1995. He worked as a Postdoctoral/Research Associate in different institutes at the United States before joining Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat, Oman, in 2003, where he is now an Associate Professor of physical chemistry. Dr. Abou‐Zied and his group investigate the spectroscopy of novel biological probes that can be used to understand certain mechanisms in DNA and proteins. They are particularly interested in studying protein‐DNA/ligand binding processes, local hydration, complex rigidity, and conformation dynamics. These studies are related to drug transport and design, protein folding and unfolding, and enzyme catalysis.
