Toshio Matsuda

Osaka University, Japan

Toshio Matsuda was born in October 17, 1949. He graduated from Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Fukuoka University, Fukuoka, Japan, in 1972. He received both his M.S. degree and Ph.D. degree at the Pharmaceutical Sciences, Osaka University, Osaka, Japan, in 1974 and 1978, respectively. In 1978, he served as a Research Associate of Osaka University. From 1979 to 1981, he worked at the Department of Pharmacology, Yale University School of Medicine, CT, USA. In 1991, he served as an Associate Professor of Osaka University, and in 1998, he worked as a Professor of Osaka University. His current research projects are neuropharmacology of the Na+/Ca2+ exchanger, neuropharmacology of the 5-HT1A receptor, the role of environmental factors in neuropsychiatric disorders, and Neurochemical mechanisms of drugs for neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders.
