M. Teresa Sanchez-Ballesta is a Tenured Scientist at the Institute of Food Science, Technology and Nutrition (ICTAN) in Madrid, Spain, which belongs to the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). She received her B.S. degree in pharmacy from the Complutense University of Madrid, Madrid, Spain, in 1992, and her Ph.D. degree, in 1998, from the University of Valencia, Valencia, Spain. Between 2000 and 2002, she conducted postdoctoral research at ENSAT-INP-INRA in Toulouse, France. Her research focuses on the study of the molecular mechanisms implicated in the response of fruit to low temperature storage and how high CO2 levels improve fruit quality and modulated gene expression.
