Jamel Orfi received his M.A.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Sherbrooke, Sherbrooke, QC, Canada, in 1991 and 1995, respectively, and his B.S. degree from Laval University, Quebec City, QC, Canada, in 1989, all in mechanical engineering. Before joining the Mechanical Engineering Department, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2007, Orfi worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Monastir (Tunisia) and the University of Moncton (Canada). He served from 2007 to 2010 as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Sherbrooke. His research activities and interests include hybrid desalination/power processes, solar and geothermal desalination, thermodynamic analysis of desalination and thermal systems, and convective heat and mass transfer.
