Massimiliano Valentini graduated from the University of Perugia, Perugia, Italy, in 1998, and received the Ph.D. degree in physical chemistry from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, Switzerland, in 2001. After 2 years as a Postdoc at the Department of Material Engineering, University of Zurich, Switzerland, and 1 year at the School of Pharmacy, University of Manchester, UK, Valentini moved to Rome at the Magnetic Resonance Laboratory of the Agricultural Research Council. Valentini's research interests are focused on the use of magnetic resonance, both NMR and MRI in different fields, and material chemistry and food science. Valentini is the author and coauthor of more than 60 papers in peer-reviewed journals.
