John Meade received his B.S. degree in biology from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind, USA, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in parasitology from the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, in 1974, 1979, and 1984, respectively. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Molecular Genetics, Biochemistry and Microbiology, University of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. Currently, he is an Associate Professor of microbiology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, Miss, USA. His research interests include parasitology: Trichomonas, Leishmania, and Trypanosoma; molecular biology; infectious diseases; microbiology; and sexually transmitted infections.
