Ugur Dilmen has excelled in his field of pediatric and neonatal medicine in Turkey, his country of origin, and he currently resides and practices medicine. He is an outstanding Turkish scientist, who has devoted his life to the care of children, especially newborns. Dr. Dilmen is currently associated with Zekai Tahir Burak Maternity Teaching Hospital, Ankara, Turkey which has the largest neonatology unit with 150-bed capacity. However, he began his medical studies at Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey. Dr. Dilmen established three neonatology units in the university or teaching hospitals in Turkey (Fatih University Medical School, Ankara, Ataturk University Medical School, Erzurum, and Zekai Tahir Burak Maternity Teaching Hospital, Ankara). Dr. Dilmen has published more than 200 manuscripts and chapters in the fields of pediatrics and neonatology and is the author of two books in his field. He also serves as an advisor to the Ministry of Health (MOH) of Turkey in the field of neonatology since 2003. He is organizing and coordinating neonatal care activities in the MOH hospitals. He has an outstanding career in Turkey and is coordinator of Turkish-Afghan Health relations. He is Board Member of Turkish Neonatal Society and active member of many charity organizations.
