Krzysztof J. Ptasinski
Krzysztof J. Ptasinski received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in chemical engineering from Warsaw University of Technology, Poland, in 1969 and 1978, respectively. He was a faculty member of the Chemical Engineering Department, Warsaw University of Technology, from 1969 to 1980. Before joining the Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands, in 1988, he had an appointment at the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Twente. Currently he is an Associate Professor of chemical engineering at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Eindhoven University of Technology. His research interest includes applied thermodynamics, biomass conversion, and sustainability metrics. Currently he is leading a research team working in the area of exergy analysis of biomass-to-biofuels conversion chains. He has developed and teached courses on applied and nonequilibrium thermodynamics, transport processes, and sustainable energy systems. Ptasinski authored more than 150 papers and 5 patents on topics related to applied thermodynamics, bioenergy, reactor engineering, and separation technology. He is an Associate Editor for the international journal of Energy, and an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Thermodynamics.
