User Biography : Prof Bruce Beaver Bruce Beaver’s research interests include all aspects of hydrocarbon fuel oxidation. After receiving a doctorate in Organic Chemistry (UMASS/Amherst, with W. E. McEwen) he was introduced to this fascinating field by Robert Hazlett as a National Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow at the Naval Research Laboratory during 1984-86. For over 25 years the Beaver group has pursued fundamental studies in this area. During 2000-08 significant work was done on JP-900 oxidation in collaboration with Harold Schobert and colleaques at the Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Beaver reviews most research articles and research proposals on fuel oxidation. In addition, he has consulted on fuel oxidation issues with various energy companies, additive companies, the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Navy, the Australian Navy, and litigious lawyers.
