Anna Pandolfi received the Ph.D. degree in mechanics from the Paul Verlaine University, Metz, France, and the M.S. degree in civil engineering from Polytechnic University of Milan, Milan, Italy. Currently, Pandolfi is an Associate Professor in Structural Mechanics, Politecnico di Milano since 2001, and an from 1995 to 2001, he was the Assistant Professor in Structural Mechanics, Politecnico di Milano. From 1987 to 19888, Pandolfi was Staff Engineer at Rocksoil (S.P.A.), Milan, Italy. Pandolfi is Visiting Associate in Engineering and Applied Science, California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, Calif, USA, since 1996. He is teaching nonlinear continuum mechanics (PhD school), Politecnico di Milano since 2007, and computational mechanics (MS school), Politecnico di Milano since 2004. His research fields include discretization approaches for solids; mechanics of materials and constitutive modeling; cohesive fracture, fragmentation algorithms, and remeshing procedures; frictional contact formulations; biomechanics: modeling of soft anisotropic tissues (cornea, arteries); stability of the configurations of complex materials. Pandolfi is Author and Coauthor of about 80 scientific publications , 35 on international journals.
