Jose R. Fernandez
Jose R. Fernandez received the Mathematics degree in 1997 and his Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics in 1993 from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. He served as an Associate Professor at that university from 2005 to 2010. Then, he moved to the University of Vigo where he serves currently as an Associate Professor. In 2007, he got the Best Young Researcher Prize from the Spanish Society of Applied Mathematics and, in 2010, he was awarded with the ECCOMAS J.L. Lions Award for young scientists in computational mathematics. He has published about 80 refereed articles and book chapters in scientific international journals. His area of expertise includes finite element methods and numerical analysis with applications to solid mechanics.
