S. T. Revankar

S. T. Revankar works as a Professor of nuclear engineering and as the Director of Multiphase and Fuel Cell Research Laboratory in the School of Nuclear Engineering at Purdue University. His distinguished career spans over 25 years. He received his B.S. degree (1975), M.S. degree (1977), and his Ph.D. degree (1983) in physics from Karnatak University, India. he obtained his M.Eng. degree (1982) in nuclear engineering from McMaster University, Canada, and postdoctoral training at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory and at the Nuclear Engineering Department of University of California, Berkeley from 1984 to 1987. He serves as an Outstanding Researcher and as a Teacher, and he is an Active Member in a number of professional societies. He has made significant contributions in the areas of nuclear reactor thermal hydraulics and safety, multiphase heat transfer, multiphase flow in porous media, instrumentation and measurement, fuel cell design, simulation and power systems, and nuclear hydrogen generation. He has published over 200 technical papers in archival journals and conference proceedings. He has received teaching and research awards. He is a Fellow of ASME. He received Conference Best Paper Award at the 1991 ASME National Heat Transfer Conference. He serves currently as the Chair of ASME K-13 Committee, as an Executive Member of Transport and Energy Processes Division of American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and as the Chair of the Nuclear and Radiological Division of American Society for Engineering Education. He has served as the Chair of the Thermal Hydraulics Division of American Nuclear Society. He currently serves on the editorial boards of the International Journal of Heat Exchanger, Heat Transfer Engineering, Journal of Thermodynamics, and ASME Journal of Fuel Cell Science and Technology
