Her area of expertise is human reproduction including menarche, fertility enhancement and regulation, menopause and women's health. She is active also in general obstetrics and gynecology including endoscopic surgery. Professor Tang has pioneered studies on menarche and menopause in the Chinese population in Hong Kong, and the psychosomatic aspects of diseases in Obstetrics & Gynecology. Recently, she has taken part in the clinical trials on HPV vaccine in girls aged 12-26 years, and on prevention of osteoporosis. She also studies, in collaboration with Chinese medicine practitioners, the effects of Chinese medicine on menopausal symptoms.
