Annemiek B. Van Spriel received the Master of Science degree in medical biology in 1996 (cum laude), at the University of Utrecht, Utrecht, The Netherlands. He received the Ph.D. degree in immunology in 2001, at the University of Utrecht, Utrecht, The Netherlands. From 2001 to 2004, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Leukocyte Membrane Protein Laboratory, Austin Research Institute, Melbourne, VIC, Australia. He was a Junior Group Leader during 2004–2009 at the Department of Tumor Immunology, Nijmegen Centre for Molecular Life Sciences, Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre, Nijmegen, The Netherlands. He is currently an Assistant Professor, at the Department of Tumor Immunology, Nijmegen Centre for Molecular Life Sciences, Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre. Van Spriel is a Board Member of the Dutch Society for Immunology (NVVI) Lunteren course committee and a Principle Organizer of the 5th European Conference on Tetraspanins in Nijmegen (The Netherlands, September 2012). His areas of expertise span plasma membrane organization of immune cells, tetraspanin proteins, cell adhesion and migration, pattern recognition receptors, tumor immunology, antifungal immunity, and humoral immune responses.
