Pierpaolo Omari was born in Trieste in 1956, is married, and has two children. He received the Doctor degree in mathematics at the University of Trieste in 1980 (summa cum laude). He serves as a Full Professor of mathematical analysis at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Trieste since 2000. He served as an Associate Professor of mathematical analysis since 1992 to 2000 and Research Assistant of mathematical analysis since 1983 to 1992. He has got invitations as Visiting Professor at several foreign universities and as a speaker, or organizer of thematic sessions, at national and international conferences. He is Member of the Scientific Council of the Ph.D. School in Environmental and Industrial Fluid Mechanics (Trieste). He won in 2003, with C. De Coster, the ''Concours Annuel (Groupe 1 - Mathematiques) de la Classe des Sciences de l'Academie Royale de Belgique''. His research interests include the study of existence, multiplicity, stability, and approximation of solutions to boundary problems for some classes of semilinear or quasilinear differential equations, with special regards to the periodic problem for ODEs and parabolic PDEs, and to the Dirichlet and Neumann problems for elliptic PDEs. He is author of nearly seventy research papers in these areas. He acts as referee for many international scientific journals in the field of differential equations and nonlinear analysis. He is Managing Editor of the journal Rendiconti dell'Istituto di Matematica dell'Universita' di Trieste, and Associate Editor of Mathematica Pannonica.
