Massimo Cazzanelli was born in 1972. After his graduation in physics in 1996 at the University of Trento, Trento, Italy (grade 106/110), he got the M.S. degree in physics at the Trinity College, University of Dublin, Dublin, Ireland, and then he spent one year at the Quantum Optics Research Laboratory of Geneva as a Research Assistant. In 2000, he became a member of the technical staff. Furthermore, in 2005, he was advanced as a Ph.D. Research Technologist (EP qualification) at the nanoscience lab and since march 2015 he works at IdEA Laboratory of the University of Trento (director prof. A. Miotello). In 2003, M. Cazzanelli has got the Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of Trento, Italy, with a thesis discussion on the nonlinear optical properties of silicon nanocrystals. He has authored more than 50 papers and holds an H-number of 23.
