Willias Masocha received his B.Pharm. degree (with honors) from the University of Zimbabwe, Harare, Zimbabwe, in 1997 and his Ph.D. degree in pharmacology from the University of Granada, Spain, in 2002. Masocha is an Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Faculty of Pharmacy, Kuwait University, Kuwait, since June 2011. He worked as a Postdoc Fellow and International Brain Research Organization Research Fellow at the Department of Neuroscience, Karolinska Institutet, Solna, Sweden, from 2003 to 2006. Masocha’s main research interests are the study of the pathophysiology of various types of pain, especially chemotherapy-induced neuropathic pain, and evaluation of the activities of potential anti-inflammatory and/or analgesic drugs. He is also interested in neuroinflammation and neuroinfections, the study of microglia activation during neuroinflammation, and the study of neuropathogenesis of African trypanosomiasis.
