Mari Maeda-Yamamoto since 2012 has been serving as a Director of Food Function Division, National Food Research Institute , NARO, Japan. From 2011 to 2012, she served as a Senior Scientist (Project Leader) and the Leader of Tea Quality and Functional Research Group, NARO Institute of Vegetable and Tea Science, Japan. From 2006 to 2011, she served as the Leader of Vegetable and Tea Function Research Team, National Institute of Vegetable and Tea Science, National Agriculture and Food Research Organization, Japan. From 2002 to 2006, she served as the Leader of the Laboratory of Functional Study of Tea, National Research Institute of Vegetables and Tea, National Agriculture and Bio-oriented Research Organization, Japan. From 1992 to 2002, she served as a Chief Researcher at the National Research Institute of Vegetables, Ornamental Plants and Tea, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Japan. From 1986 to 1992, she worked as a Researcher at the Laboratory of Crop Science, Chugoku National Experimental Station, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Japan. She received in 1992 a Ph.D. degree from the Kyushu University, Japan. Her research expertise is physiological functions of green tea, with major emphasis on immunological regulation and lipid metabolism.
