Mari Maeda-Yamamoto

Mari Maeda-Yamamoto since 2011 has been serving as a Senior Scientist and the Leader of Tea Quality and Functional Research Group, NARO Institute of Vegetable and Tea Science, Japan. From 2006–2011, he served as the Leader of Vegetable and Tea Function Research Team, National Institute of Vegetable and Tea Science, National Agriculture and Food Research Organization, Japan. From 2002–2006, he served as the Leader of the Laboratory of Functional Study of Tea, National Research Institute of Vegetables and Tea, National Agriculture and Bio-oriented Research Organization, Japan. From 1992–2002, he served as a Chief Researcher at the National Research Institute of Vegetables, Ornamental Plants and Tea, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Japan. From 1986–1992, he worked as a Researcher at the Laboratory of Crop Science, Chugoku National Experimental Station, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Japan. He received in 1992 a Ph.D. degree from the Kyushu University, Japan. His research expertise is physiological functions of green tea, with major emphasis on immunological regulation and lipid metabolism.
