Paul Bresser
Paul Bresser, M.D., Ph.D., serves as a Consultant in respiratory medicine at the Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. From 1992 to 2009, he worked as an Associated Professor of medicine at the Academic Medical Center of the University of Amsterdam. He obtained his M.D. degree from the University of Amsterdam in 1986 and became board certified in respiratory medicine in 1992. He received his Ph.D. degree in 2001. In 2002, he undertook subspecialty training in pulmonary hypertension at the University of California San Diego. He specializes in interstitial lung disease and pulmonary hypertension. He participates in various international networks on the diagnosis and treatment of both disease entities. His current research interests are focussed on the pathophysiology and treatment of pulmonary hypertension, with a special interest in chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary hypertension secondary to interstitial lung disease.
