Giancarlo Paradisi is an Aggregate Professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart of Rome, Rome, Italy. He works at the Policlinico A. Gemelli in Rome, where he is staff of the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Professor Paradisi’s major research interests are focused on four areas: gestational diabetes mellitus, gestational hypertension/preeclampsia, polycystic ovary syndrome, and metabolic syndrome in menopause. He graduated in medicine and surgery from La Sapienza University of Rome and finished his postgraduate training program and Ph.D. degree in obstetrics and gynecology at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart of Rome. He completed his qualification in endocrinology and metabolism, obtaining a postdoctoral fellowship at the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism, Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, Ind, USA, directed by Professor A. Baron. Before assuming his current appointments, he was clinical assistant at G.B. Grassi Hospital of Rome. Professor Paradisi is an Active Member of Endocrine Society and other professional committees and societies. He has published several journal articles and 7 book chapters. He currently serves as referee for several prestigious journals, including Diabetes Care, Human Reproduction, Coronary Artery Disease, Obesity Research, British Journal Obstetrics Gynecology, European Journal of Endocrinology, and Gynecological Endocrinology.
