Seok Kwun Kim
Seok Kwun Kim was born in Ha-dong, Kyeongnam, Korea, in 1952. He received the M.D. degree from Busan National University, Busan, and the Ph.D. degree from Graduate School of Chungnam National University, Daejeon. He had residency at Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Busan National University Hospital, Busan. In 1985, he worked as a Professor at the College of Medicine, Busan National University, Busan. In 1988, he studied the craniomaxillofacial surgery at University of California, Davis Medical Center, USA. In 1990, he moved to Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, College of Medicine, Dong-A University, Busan, as a Chairman and as a Professor. In 1996, he visited the Division of Plastic Surgery, Harvard Medical School as a Visiting Professor. In 1998, he became the Chief of education and research in Dong-A Medical Center. He served as the Chairman of training and education, Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, in 2003, and as a President of Korean Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association in 2003. He is also a Member of the National Academy of Medicine of Korea in 2004. In 2004, he participated in the 5th Asian Pacific Craniofacial Conference as a conference Cochair. In 2004, he worked as the Dean of Dong-A University School of Medicine. He served at the Board of Directors as the Chairman of Young-Honam Regional Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeries in 2004. In 2006, he served as the President of Busan-Fukuoka Overseas Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is interested in essays and works as an Essayist. His specialties include craniomaxillofacial surgery, cleft lip and palate, rhinoplasty, and craniofacial trauma.
