Rajiv Vohra was born in June 1954. He received his M.S. degree (Chandigarh, India) in 1980 and a Ph.D. degree (Manchester, UK) in 1989. Since 1995, he has been a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at the Selly Oak Hospital of the University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, Birmingham, UK. He accomplished Convener Basic Surgical Skills Courses South East Asia for The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (2002–2005), delivered the college prestigious lecture for The RCS Edinburgh in January 2007, and organized training fellowship for The Indian Society of Vascular Surgery in the Department of Vascular Surgery at the Selly Oak Hospital, Birmingham, UK. Vohra was awarded honorary fellowship of Vascular Society of India October (2007) and of Egyptian Vascular Society February (2008). In addition, he supervised 10 research fellows (1997) to date and 3 M.D. and 1 Ph.D. degrees; he has 91 publications, more than 230 presentations, and 15 chapters and reviews; he participated in 5 national and 7 international trials. Moreover, Vohra has several memberships in General Medical Council, Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland, Medical Protection Society, and Egyptian Vascular Society.
