Marc A. Reymond
Marc A. Reymond, M.D., graduated as a Physician from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, after spending part of his medical education at Harvard Medical School. He works as a Board-Certified Gastrointestinal Surgeon both in Switzerland and Germany. Since 2005, he serves as the Chairman and the Head of the Department of Surgery at the Protestant Hospital Bielefeld. He served as a Research Group Leader in surgical oncology at the Foundation for Medical Research at the University of Geneva. He has published about 100 peer-reviewed papers in the fields of surgical oncology, sample preparation, cancer proteomics, tumor-cell dissemination, and research bioethics. He serves as a Reviewer for 20+ national and international journals and grant agencies, and as an Advisor for the French Ministry of Research. He is also serving on the board of several journals, surgical societies, and nonprofit biobanks. He works as a Professor of surgery at the University of Magdeburg and as a Clinical Professor of surgery at the Westphalia University Münster, Germany. He serves also as an Honorary Professor of the Bishkek University, Kyrgyzstan. He is an expert in state medical license examinations. He has been invited as a Teacher for postgraduate courses in the USA, Australia, China, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland. He authored several books. He is heading an annual training course for surgeons and is a founding author of the e-learning platform, on behalf of the German College of Surgeons (BDC). In 2002, he completed a M.B.A. (A.A.C.S.B.) degree in science and technology with LaSalle University, Philadelphia, USA. He is the founder of a biotechnology company and the holder of two innovation prizes. He (co)invented several patents and patent applications.
