VerĂ³nica Pino
Verónica Pino was born in 1974. She has been a "Ramon y Cajal" Research Associate at the Department of Analytical Chemistry, Nutrition and Food Science, University of La Laguna, Cuesta, Spain, since January 2010. She received her B.S. degree in 1997 from the University of La Laguna, getting the best student record in Fundamental Chemistry and Science Graduate Award. She served as a Visiting Researcher at the Department of Chemistry, Wake Forest University, USA, summer of 2000, with Professor Willie Hinze. She gained a Ph.D. degree in analytical chemistry, in 2002, from the University of La Laguna, Cuesta, Spain with Doctorate Extraordinary Award and special mention for Young Canary Researchers from the Canary Government (Spain). She has been a Postdoc at the Agrarian Research Canary Institute, Valle Guerra, Spain in 2002 (7 months) with Maria Fresno, then at the Department of Chemistry, Iowa State University, Ames, USA in 2003 (one year) with Professor Daniel W. Armstrong, and then at Claude Bernard University, Lyon, France in 2005 with Professor Alain Berthod. She has been a Research Collaborator with Professor Jared L. Anderson at the University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio, USA, with short stays in 2006 and 2008. She has also been a ?Juan de la Cierva? Research Associate between 2005 and 2008. Pino was accredited to Full Professor by the ANECA in February 2010. In September 2011, she has published 5 book chapters and 48 papers in peer-reviewed journals, with more than 900 citations (h-index = 17) in August 2012.
