Gianluca Tettamanti has been working as an Associate Professor of Zoology at DBSV, University of Insubria, since 2011. He also occupied the position of Assistant Professor of Zoology at the same university from 2005 to 2011. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in evolutionary developmental biology from the University of Insubria in 2003. He is a Member of the Board of Professors of the Ph.D. program in cellular and molecular biology at the University of Insubria. His research topics include cell death and regeneration in insect development, insect biotechnology, immune response and angiogenesis, and muscle development. He is the author of 61 papers in peer-reviewed international journals with impact factor (h index: 14). He is also a Member of the Editorial Board of Research and Reviews in Biosciences, Invertebrate Survival Journal, and Advances in life sciences. He is an Executive Editor of the issue Current Perspectives in Muscle Regeneration and Diseases and a reviewer for more than 30 peer-reviewed international journals.
