Bruno Memoli

Bruno Memoli was born in Naples, Italy, in 1950. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine (cum laude), University of Naples Federico II, Naples, Italy. In 1977, he completed his postgraduate degree (cum laude) in nephrology at the University of Naples Federico II. He worked as a Clinical Associate (1976–1980), an Assistant Professor (1980–2001), the Chief of Dialysis Unit (since 1988), the Chief of the Laboratory of Cell Cultures (since 1990), and an Associate Professor (since 2001) at the Department of Nephrology, University of Naples Federico II. Moreover, he is a Professor of dialysis techniques at the Postgraduate School of Nephrology, University of Naples Federico II, from 1979 till now. In addition, he is a Member of the Italian Society of Nephrology in 1977, the International Society of Nephrology in 1977, and a Corresponding Member of the American Society of Nephrology in 1996. Since 1998, he is the Referee of the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology (JASN), Kidney International (KI), Nephron, Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation (NDT), Journal of Nephrology, and GIN. His main research fields include acute renal failure: pathophysiology and therapy, dialysis techniques, and dialysis biocompatibility: production of cytokines studied by cell culture. Memoli authored more than 190 publications.
