V. Valentini

V. Valentini graduated in medicine in 1979 from the School of Medicine of the Università Cattolica Sacro Cuore of Rome, in which he became a Specialist in oncological radiotherapy (1983), radiology (1985), oncology (1988), and was appointed as an Associate Professor of radiotherapy and as a Chair of Radiation Therapy Unit 1. His activities are focused exclusively on radiotherapy directing his interest to different fields like the optimization of radiation treatments by using different imaging techniques for the definition of target volume delineation guide lines, the research of integration between radiotherapy and surgery, by managing preoperative and intraoperative programs, the research of integration between radiotherapy and chemotherapy, in which he applied different schedules for the treatment of locally advanced neoplasm especially in rectal, pancreas, stomach, anal canal, lung, cervix and biliary ducts cancers. He authored more than 160 publication in peer-reviewed journals and many review articles as well as book chapters and books on computer application in teaching and on different neoplasms. He is a Member of the editorial board of different national and international radiotherapy journals.
