Xin Gao

Xin Gao received the B.S. degree in biochemistry from Wuhan University, the M.S. degree in statistics from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1998, and the Ph.D. degree in the same field from the University of Ottawa in 2003. His research interests include statistical genetics and bioinformatics, nonparametric inference, foundation of inference, computational statistics, and model selection. He has been working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, York University, since 2003. He also worked as a Senior Biostatistician at Human Cancer Genetics Center, Ohio State University, during 1998–2000. He has been serving as a Referee for Bioinformatics and for BMC Bioinformatics (since 2006), and Referee for Computational Statistics and Data analysis (in 2008). He was also a Chair of the Session on Statistical Genetics, The Statistical Society of Canada Annual Meeting, and a Session Chair of The Seventh North American New Researchers Conference.
