Anthony NOUY was born in France in 1977. He received his PhD in Computational Mechanics in 2003 from Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) de Cachan in France. In 2004, he became assistant professor at the University of Nantes. Since 2010, he is a full professor in the Department of Mathematics and Informatics of the Ecole Centrale de Nantes, and he is a member of the Research institute in civil engineering and mechanics (GeM). His current research interests mainly concern the development of numerical methods for uncertainty quantification, multiscale numerical methods, model reduction techniques and tensor-based methods for solving high-dimensional problems in computational science. He is one of the initiators of the Proper Generalized Decomposition method which he developed for solving high-dimensional stochastic problems. In 2010, he received the John Argyris award for the best paper by a young researcher in computational mechanics.
