Tiina Tamm

Tiina Tamm gained her B.S. degree in biology with honors at the University of Tartu, Tartu, Estonia. In 1992, she started her career in plant virology research at the National Institute of Chemical Physics and Biophysics, Tallinn, Estonia. She obtained the M.S. degree in molecular biology in 1994 and the Ph.D. degree in molecular biology as well in 2000 at the University of Tartu. She subsequently became a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Paterson Institute for Cancer Research, UK (2002-2005). Since 2005, Tamm has been a Researcher at the Institute of Molecular and Cell biology, University of Tartu. Her research interests include the genome organization of sobemoviruses, the programmed ribosomal frameshifting, and polyprotein processing.
