Ameur Cherif
Ameur Cherif studied natural sciences at the Faculty of Sciences of Tunis (FST), Tunis El Manar University, Tunisia, in June 1995. Following his M.S. degree in genetics and molecular biology in 1997, he obtained his Ph.D. degree in biological sciences (microbiology course) in 2001. His main research activities were performed in the Laboratory of Microbiology at the FST in collaboration with the Center of Biotechnology of Sfax. He was recruited as an Assistant in 2001 and then Maître Assistant. He obtained his Habilitation Universitaire , HDR, degree in 2007 and he was promoted as an Associate Professor in microbiology at the Higher Institute for Biotechnology of Sidi Thabet (ISBST, the Manouba University), where he was elected twice as a Director from 2010 to 2014. He is currently leading a new research laboratory on the biotechnology and biogeoresources valorization at the ISBST. His current research activities focus on several aspects of molecular microbial ecology and systematics.
