Rolf W. Berg
Rolf W. Berg received the Ph.D. degree in inorganic chemistry and molecular spectroscopy from the Technical University of Denmark, Lyngby, Denmark, in 1972. He defended his dissertation (as a candidate of chemical engineering) in vibrational spectroscopy of coordination compounds. He served as a Research Fellow and after 1984 as an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Technical University of Denmark for many years. He had long-term scientific visits to Leicester University, UK, to Argonne National Laboratory, Ill, USA, to University of Trondheim, Norway, and to the Memorial University, St. Johns, New Foundland, Canada. Since 1992, he has been affiliated to the Danish Academy of Natural Sciences. Moreover, he is a Member of the American Society for Applied Spectroscopy and a Member of the Editorial Board of the Applied Spectroscopy Reviews journal. His research interests include areas like UV Raman spectroscopy, energy technology, molten salt chemistry, ionic liquids, crystallography, and material sciences.
