Franca Fagioli

Franca Fagioli received a degree in medicine and surgery and a postgraduate Diploma in hematology from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Ferrara, Italy, in 1988 and 1992, respectively, and a postgraduate Diploma in pediatrics from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Turin, Italy, in 2002. She is the Director of Division of Paediatric Oncohaematology, Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Unit, OIRM-S.Anna. She is in charge of the administrative and clinical operations of the BMT Unit, BM Collection Unit, and Processing Laboratory and responsible for the management of all pretransplant and transplant-related activities and follow-up and the collection and manipulation of hematopoietic stem cells. Moreover, she is in charge of BMT Unit staff duties, setting training and continuous training activities of personnel and personnel supervision. She participates in clinical and laboratory group programs at national and international levels, participates in the application and improvement of the quality control system, and coordinates the JACIE Accreditation Program. Her main interests are oncohematology and regenerative medicine fields, specific antitumor therapy, and isolation, characterization, and expansion of hemopoietic and mesenchymal stem cells for cellular therapy.
