Jaroslav Mosnacek
Jaroslav Mosnacek obtained a degree in organic chemistry from Faculty of Natural Sciences, Comenius University, Bratislava, Slovakia, in 1998. He received the Ph.D. degree in macromolecular chemistry from Polymer Institute, Slovak Academy of Sciences, Bratislava, Slovakia, in 2002. After the defence of his Ph.D. thesis, he spent almost 4 years as a Postdoc in Italy (Professor Ciardelli Group), Poland (Professor Penczek Group), Saudi Arabia (Professor Basfar Group), and the USA (Professor Matyjaszewski Group). He was awarded in 2004 as Slovak Young Scientist of the Year. Since May 2007, he has been serving as a Senior Research Scientist, and since July 2010, he has been working as a Deputy Director of the Polymer Institute, Slovak Academy of Sciences. His work is oriented towards the following: studies of controlled/living polymerization techniques, photochemically induced controlled radical polymerizations, new functional well-defined polymers and polymers from renewable monomers, surface modification of nanoparticles, preparation of hybrids for various applications, and stabilization and photochemical modifications of polymers.
